OS-Climate Unleashes the Power of Open Source to Develop Data and Tools Required to Meet Paris Accord Climate Goals

OS-Climate is building a non-profit, transparently governed public utility of climate-related data and analytics using Open Source best practices. Financial institutions, corporations, NGOs, regulators, and academics can access the data and source code behind the first three tools on the Linux Foundation’s OS-Climate platform. The Physical Risk & Resilience, Portfolio Alignment and Transition Analysis tools are being developed cooperatively by OS-Climate members in projects led by BNP Paribas, Allianz and Ortec Finance, and Airbus, respectively. Several other OS-Climate members and partners are contributing substantially to the projects. OS-Climate calls on all interested organizations and individuals to join the collaboration, which can significantly accelerate the transition to a resilient, Net Zero economy.
